Speaking on at Ponpes Al Mukmin Ngruki on 7 August,  Abu Bakar Basyir explained why he has left  MMI.   He stated that disagreed with its leadership which is not based on Islamic way due to using collective leadership.  He also said democratic method as un-islamic, and it is contrary to emir method as the only authorized decision-maker.    The new one will use a Jamaah wal Imamah concept. Some alternative names are Anshorusunnah,  Jamaah Anshorulloh,  Jamaah Muslimin Ashorullah, Jammah Anshorutauhid.

He is being temporarily replaced by his former deputy, cleric M. Tholib, until the MMI convenes its next congress to elect a new emir.  Chief of Ladjnah Tanfidziyah Majelis Mujahidin, Irfan S Awwas responded at his office at  Jl Karanglo Kotagede, Yogyakarta  that ABB’s resignation   will  not  influenced MMI movement because MMI has a lot of cadres.
